In this post I'm going to create a summary of some books, which helped me get started with CakePHP and become a "baker". I will try to make a logical separation of the content by level of advancement/experience.
Before I start, I would like you to know that I'm in no way affiliated with anyone. I'm writing this post to help people who have chosen CakePHP as a part of their development environment and are looking for some read that's going to be useful as they start. I also assume that you already have basic, if not average or advanced knowledge of PHP and/or MySQL.
I friend shared that a good read is Apress' Beginning CakePHP From Novice To Professional, but as I skimmed through its contents and those of Packt's CakePHP Application Development, I figured my 30 bucks are gonna go for the latter. There are a lot of online resources on the Internet, but a book will cover all of the stuff you need to get started. Personally, I own CakePHP application development, but I've skimmed through the other two as well and I think all of them are worth investing in.
tutorial, books, the bakery, resources, cakephp, learning, tricks, tips, tools
